- ➤ The nearly 100-year-old Bannock County Veteran’s Memorial Building lost its upstairs floor last December when a burst pipe exposed a weak subfloor and lead paint. The Veterans Memorial Association is raising funds—with an anonymous donor contributing $100,000 and promising another $100,000 in matching funds if equal donations are received by the end of August—to restore the historic building. - ➤ Pocatello resident Jack Edward Newsom, 43, was sentenced today to 121 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine — he will serve five years of supervised release after he completes his sentence. Local News 8
