- ➤ Idaho State University is hosting a march & day of service next week in Pocatello to honor Martin Luther King Jr. as part of its ongoing tradition of celebrating his civil rights legacy. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ A local WWII veteran celebrated his 100th birthday on Monday (Jan. 13) with family and friends during a heartfelt gathering. The milestone event honored his service in the war and his long life in our community. Post Register

- ➤ The Pocatello Rotary Club will host the Chocolate Lover's Affair next Saturday, Jan. 23, at Stephens Performing Arts Center, featuring local bakery vendors serving chocolate desserts for tasting + wine available for purchase to raise funds for community literacy programs. Local News 8
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Pocatello Chubbuck School District 25 Education Foundation is accepting applications for the Terry Perkins Educational Scholarship (which offers $3,000 annually for up to two years) to support students from Century, Highland, and Pocatello High Schools and New Horizon High. Applications are due March 13. KPVI
- ➤ Superintendent Critchfield (Idaho Department of Education) explained that schools plan to bridge a special education funding gap by using Driver Training Account dollars and interest from the Career Ready Students fund. She will present the proposals to the Legislature soon to support high-need students. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

- ➤ Former state rep Julianne Young formally declared her candidacy for Legislative District 30 Seat B on Tuesday, Jan. 13, pledging her commitment to faith, family and the Constitution in Bingham County.
