Movie - The Dog Stars

About this event

"The Dog Stars" plays Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m. at ISU's Bengal Theater. Ridley Scott's "The Dog Stars," is a riveting, epic thriller set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. Scott tells the story of Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists. The New Yorker writes, "The heart of the film -- despite confrontations with feral marauders -- is the rebuilding of trust, the overcoming of grief, and the importance of vaccines," while The Australian adds, "It’s unique, soulful, optimistic, and it’s got a big heart in terms of the moving power of human connection." Admission is Free for ISU students, $2 for ISU staff and $3 for the public. For trailer and more information, go to www.isucinema.com… .
