- ➤ The Pocatello Animal Shelter is offering adoptions for cats and dogs over 7 months old at half price through Dec. 24, with Friends of the Pocatello Animal Shelter covering half the cost; each adoption includes vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, license and collar—a $300 value. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Bannock County opened a new 7,000 sqft Youth Development Center on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the County Events Complex to replace its old jail facility and provide education, life skills training, and support for high-risk youth plus probation officers work on site to quickly address concerns. - ➤ Last week, students in the Pocatello/Chubbuck district took part in the Hour of AI program at Tyhee and Ellis Elementary, where they practiced coding with microbits and solved AI-powered mysteries. Teachers say the lessons built critical thinking skills and discussed digital safety + creative innovation. Local News 8
