- ➤ Pocatello officials and landowners Gary and Jennie Ratliff completed a targeted land swap on March 6 that transferred a key access trail for the Sunny Side rock climbing area to public ownership — protecting future public recreation access and the historic climbing site. East Idaho News
- ➤ An anonymous Secret Santa is giving $1 million to eastern Idaho residents this holiday season — one recipient is Ryan and Marci Buffat, whose family cares for their 27 year old son Brandon as they work on adding a needed stairlift to their split level home. East Idaho News
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The annual Chocolate Lovers Affair will take place Jan. 23 at Stephens Performing Arts Center from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets cost $30 (bundle discounts available) and organizers warn that ticket supplies are limited. KPVI

- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department announced 12 winners on Thursday from its second annual Name a Snowplow contest. The contest invited community members to submit creative names that add a fun twist to winter road safety efforts. Post Register

- ➤ A long-vacant downtown office building is scheduled to become a warming shelter this winter, with plans to add affordable housing units for local residents (including families). Idaho State Journal
