- ➤ On December 1, the city’s Parks and Rec newsletter was published online and highlighted a winter activity guide with ski trail updates and Nordic Center news, along with the opening of the vault toilet at Upper City Creek trailhead. The newsletter also noted that gift certificates for Ross Park + the Community Rec Center and Nordic Center are available at 144 Wilson Ave. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ Historic Downtown Pocatello will host a Christmas tree lighting on December 5th at 5 p.m. at Lookout Point—Santa will join to light the tree and the first Friday Art Walk will follow downtown until 8:00 p.m. KPVI
- ➤ Heroes Defense received a $7,500 grant from Intermountain Gas as part of the company's 75th anniversary — the donation was one of five made to nonprofits in its Idaho service area. Post Register

- ➤ A local father who saw his autistic son succeed at Pocatello Community Charter School has launched a $1,500 giving campaign to support teachers and disadvantaged students this holiday season—he hopes his donation will help others benefit from the school’s excellence. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ The Friends of the Marshall Public Library have brought back their annual Holiday Store at the library — offering discounted books, puzzles, games and more through December to support library projects, while the library stays open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. KPVI

- ➤ Winter sleigh rides through herds of wild elk will return to Hardware Wildlife Management Area on Dec. 5 + an expanded schedule adds five additional weekday rides for visitors. Idaho State Journal
