- ➤ American Red Cross volunteers provided crucial support to hundreds of neighbors—delivering essential aid and comfort—to help families recover from recent disasters in Idaho and East Oregon. Post Register
- ➤ Aid for Friends will host its 19th annual Homeless Awareness Encampment on December 6th and 7th at Caldwell Park to honor a tradition started after two local men died from hypothermia and to raise awareness for those without shelter. Volunteers will build cardboard box encampments and sleep outdoors while a soup kitchen dinner and burn barrel help ease the cold. KPVI
- ➤ Residents in the Pocatello area bought over 38,000 charitable items using vending-style Giving Machines during a two-week debut — local organizers said the machines brought strong community support. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ At 6:30 on Friday, over 100 floats from local businesses and groups drove along a route from Second Avenue and East Lewis Street to West Sublette and North Main Street, even with light rain plus they were dressed in full Christmas decor. The parade, a tradition for more than 30 years, showed off dazzling trucks and trailers plus brought festive holiday cheer to Pocatello. Local News 8
- ➤ Bannock Humane Society will host its annual Christmas for the Animals Fundraiser on December 6th from 9am to 3pm at its facility+ the event will offer Pictures With Santa Paws, baked goods, homemade gifts, raffles, a silent auction, lunch for purchase, and adoptable animals from 11am to 4pm. Funds raised will support animal care and spay+ neuter programs for local animals. KPVI
- ➤ Following Friday’s Christmas Night Lights Parade, Historic Downtown is hosting Small Business Saturday where at least 20 local businesses offer food, sales and special events. Visitors can collect Downtown Dollars at 18 locations—meet Santa at Yellowstone Restaurant, visit a crafter’s market and ride the Historic Downtown Trolley—to enjoy local holiday deals. - ➤ Wild turkeys are loved by hunters and bird watchers across the state. Managing the birds is tricky when they cause conflicts for homeowners and farmers near wild areas — Idaho Fish and Game asks locals to use the Turkey Tracker App to log sightings. KPVI

- ➤ Bannock County Veteran Services is inviting the community to a ceremony on Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge on W Fremont Street to honor lives lost 84 years ago in the Pearl Harbor attack.
