- ➤ Historic downtown Pocatello hosts the annual Christmas Night Light Parade today with over 100 registered entries + Santa rides atop the fire truck to kick off the holiday season. City officials advise parking several blocks away and dressing warmly in the cold weather. Local News 8
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Historic Downtown Pocatello is getting ready for Small Business Saturday this weekend with special treats planned for shoppers and festive events. Santa will greet visitors at Yellowstone restaurant with photos, milk and cookies from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—other activities include craft kits, trolley rides, and a downtown dollar giveaway. KPVI
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ More than 478,000 Idahoans are traveling this holiday weekend and may enjoy cheaper gas prices. AAA reported that regular gas in Idaho averaged $3.27—three cents lower than last week but 16 cents higher than at this time last year. KPVI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Fish & Game is asking the public for input on hunting and trapping season proposals for upland game, turkey and furbearers. Their recommendations will be presented to the Commission (January 2026) to guide future wildlife management. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Congressman Simpson is accepting applications for Spring Internship positions beginning in January and lasting through May with a December 1 deadline. Interested applicants can work full-time in his Washington, D.C. or Idaho Falls office performing tasks such as opening mail and researching government reports. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ Bannock County Veteran Services will host a ceremony on December 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in Pocatello to honor lives lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor—attendees are invited to wear Hawaiian shirts, toss flower petals in the Portneuf River, and join dinner served afterward at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building.
