  • Two local restaurants will serve free Thanksgiving meals to the Gate City community—offering warm food and support this holiday. The program will take place on Thanksgiving to bring neighbors together.  Idaho State Journal
  • Bannock County has opened its new Youth Development Center in Pocatello to offer resources to at-risk students and serve as an administrative hub for local events — a $2.6M project aimed at supporting youths in the community.  Idaho State Journal
  • The Michaud family will hold their annual Christmas Angels concert next week—marking 19 years of doorbell ditch tradition as they spread holiday cheer to those in need.  Idaho State Journal
  • Emmy and Ike Southerland of Pocatello were honored on Feel Good Friday for their Giving Garden that has shared extra produce with neighbors in need—cars brought shelf-stable food donations and U—Haul delivered a storage container on November 21 to keep the project going for two more months.  East Idaho News

  • Pocatello Regional Airport announced Friday that Delta will add a second daily round-trip flight to Salt Lake City starting May 7 — the new schedule sets departures at 11:44 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. with returns arriving at 10:31 a.m. and 6:25 p.m.  Local News 8

  • The 'Ghost Adventures' crew visited The Yellowstone Restaurant in downtown Pocatello this week—sparking local excitement over the paranormal appearance.  Idaho State Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho State Department of Agriculture recommends canceling upcoming equine events and halting horse movements as a precaution after reports from Texas and Oklahoma linked Equine Herpes Virus Type One to recent events—Idaho has not confirmed any cases. Horse owners who attended events in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana are advised to contact the State Veterinarian and take strict biosecurity measures.  KPVI
