COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Pocatello Police Department is accepting extra frozen turkeys — residents can drop them off or arrange a pickup to support the Idaho Foodbank and assist local families this holiday season.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • Wild turkeys have been plentiful in southeastern Idaho as stores offer a free bird with $150 in groceries—indicating a commercial shortage for Thanksgiving. Bill Schiess saw large flocks foraging along the South Fork of the Snake River and in nearby towns, giving residents plenty to watch before the holiday.  East Idaho News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • According to AAA Idaho, regular gas in Idaho fell to $3.33 per gallon this week — a drop of one cent from last week and 13 cents from a month ago — and experts said gas prices might decrease further if crude remains below $60 per barrel.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bannock County officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. for a new 7,000-square-foot facility that houses a Youth Development Center and county events offices — the project is funded by $2.6 million from ARPA funds.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • Senator Brian Lenney said that the Idaho Digital Learning Alliance now lets teachers earn extra income during school hours with a $25.8 million budget and little oversight—he urged lawmakers to review how state funds are spent.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
