COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Pocatello Police Department is welcoming community donations for its annual turkey drive to help local families enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal as funds will support the Idaho Foodbank. Community members can drop off frozen turkeys, canned goods, or monetary contributions at the police station until November 20—each gift making a difference.  East Idaho News
  • Law enforcement officers will don Santa hats and collect donations at Chubbuck Walmart on November 8 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.—the fundraiser supports the Cops & Kids program that pairs children in need with officers for holiday shopping and festive activities.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

  • The Business Women of Pocatello will host their annual Mix & Mingle event tomorrow from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Purpose Center — the celebration will feature a silent auction, cocktail hour, dinner, and entertainment as they announce $15,000 in grants for local businesswomen and students studying business.  KPVI
  • After three years of work, high-tech entertainment center Extreme Rush in Pocatello will begin a phased opening next month as Gate City residents push for a Christmas launch & more local fun.  Idaho State Journal

  • Pocatello Regional Transit has opened a public comment period—residents have until November 12 to share their ideas for a new bus transfer station at the old Albertson's site. The project aims to improve ADA access and reduce traffic, and its design and funding will be finalized after public feedback is received.  East Idaho News
