- ➤ Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel hosted its fourth annual Soup for Tots fundraiser in Fort Hall on Monday night, where hundreds sampled a variety of soups like tomato bisque and bison chowder to support local charities. The event charged a $10 fee, winter clothing, or a new toy for entry—raising over $3,000 to benefit the Fort Hall recreation center and local fire departments. KPVI
- ➤ Pocatello Scout Troop 395 will celebrate its 25th anniversary this Saturday, November 8th, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church — 215 North 18th Avenue, and former scouts, leaders and others interested in scouting are invited to attend. KPVI
- ➤ The Pocatello Police Department has launched its 7th annual 'Give the Cops a Bird' food drive in partnership with the Idaho Food Bank—encouraging residents to donate frozen turkeys, canned goods and cash at the station until November 20th to help families facing food insecurity. Local News 8
- ➤ One of Pocatello's old churches will host its Greek Gyro and Pastry Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will serve gyros and three types of pastry to raise money for local nonprofits as volunteers with long and new traditions work together inside the church hall. - ➤ The Pocatello/Chubbuck Senior Center posted its November lunch menu and activity schedule online; lunch is served from 11:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at 427 N 6th Avenue in Pocatello. - ➤ Rescue crews and multiple agencies — Fremont County Sheriff's Office, Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, Fremont County Ambulance and Air Idaho Rescue — resumed the search for two experienced fishermen missing since Saturday at Henrys Lake near Island Park; officials reported one man is from Idaho Falls while the other is from Rexburg, and the search continued yesterday amid near-freezing conditions and an empty boat found on shore. - ➤ Work continues on the Riverton Bridge on Interstate 15 near Blackfoot after a single vehicle crash Thursday night caused severe damage that closed lanes and led to reopening with single lane traffic—crews are working day and night to restore full access while drivers are urged to use caution. - ➤ KPVI's Deanne Coffin visited Rogue on Main Street in Lava Hot Springs, a new restaurant offering a modern American menu in a rustic mountain setting—its co-owner Carol Cove said the business has been open since June and now serves lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch with weekly specials while also accepting holiday party reservations. - ➤ Idaho drivers saw a drop in prices as AAA Idaho reported Monday's average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.35 — five cents less than last week and 14 cents less than one month ago; in Pocatello, the price was $3.29. Public affairs director Matthew Conde said falling gasoline supplies could slow further drops before the holidays. East Idaho News
