- ➤ AMVETS of Pocatello hosts its 1st Saturday of the Month Pancake Breakfast today from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building at 300 N. Johnson Avenue—the meal costs $12 and includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, two kinds of sausage, biscuits and gravy, coffee and orange juice with free meals for first responders in uniform and children 5 and under. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ After a major crash last night closed the Riverton Road Bridge on I-15 and forced traffic onto U.S. Highway 91 between Exit 89 and Exit 93, ITD crews shored up the bridge so drivers could use one lane in each direction today—though delays and reduced speeds will remain until full repairs begin early next week. - ➤ Idaho State University welcomed its largest incoming class of first-time undergraduate students in 13 years this fall — marking the biggest enrollment surge since 2012 — in Pocatello. Idaho State Journal

- ➤ On Oct. 30, former Boise Police Chief Mike Masterson, spokesperson for Retired Public Employees of Idaho, held a news conference at the State Capitol and said that pension increases have lagged behind rising inflation—an 8% boost compared to more than 22% inflation—and called for restoring cost-of-living adjustments. The group also urged the Legislature to add a retired employee to the pension board to strengthen the system. East Idaho News
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Insurance issued a cease and desist order to UnitedHealthcare after finding in September that the company limited access to Medicare Advantage plans by restricting the online applications required for access—its actions also included overstating expenses and withholding agent commissions under state law. UnitedHealthcare may file a motion for reconsideration or request a hearing within two weeks. Local News 8

- ➤ The undefeated Century Diamondbacks overcame a 14-0 start to score 28 unanswered points and beat the Columbia Wildcats 49-21 in a state playoff game.
