- ➤ Dude’s Public Market in downtown Pocatello is open seven days a week, serving coffee, sushi and homestyle meals in a renovated historic building restored with 100-year-old wood—local businessman Jim Young created the space with family help and plans to add a patio for outdoor dining next summer. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Oct 22, Idaho Fish and Game and Chubbuck Animal Control officers tranquilized a large female moose from a backyard on Whitaker Road—then relocated it to a remote area with suitable habitat to keep both people and wildlife safe. This is the second moose removal in southeast Idaho in less than two weeks. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Fish and Game relocated a large adult female moose from a Chubbuck neighborhood on Wednesday morning by working with Animal Control Officers along Vern Road and Hiline Road—tranquilizing the animal and moving it to a remote habitat suited for moose. This marks the second neighborhood removal in less than two weeks, and residents are advised to give moose plenty of space. KPVI

- ➤ Pocatello Police Department announced a medication drop-off (National Drug Take Back Day) today between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for residents to safely dispose of unused, expired, or no longer needed drugs. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Eastern Idaho now has only two teams competing for one state title banner after 14 District 5-6 teams played at the Idaho High School Soccer State Championships—today, the Sugar-Salem Diggers will face the Marsh Valley Eagles in the 4A girls' championship while several local teams lost in other brackets. East Idaho News
- ➤ On October 23, five eastern Idaho soccer teams advanced in the state tournament held in greater Boise; local Pocatello Thunder made a major upset by defeating No. 2 Twin Falls (in the girls' bracket). Nine teams lost and will now fight for a consolation trophy (after one round of play). East Idaho News
