- ➤ Local non-profit groups hosted a Halloween fundraiser at the old Convergys building in Pocatello that featured a costume dash, carnival, haunted house and a one-mile walk by the Highland High School Cross Country team — proceeds will be shared by Housing Alliance — Community Partnership, Friends of the Children and Delirium Haunted House to support families and plans to turn the building into a community center with affordable housing. - ➤ Portneuf Medical Center will host Pocatello’s first Wave of Light event at Portneuf Wellness Complex Pavilion 2 on October 15, where families will create luminaries and light candles at 7 p.m. The vigil will last until 8:30 p.m. and offers grieving families a quiet time to remember their babies—highlighting the center’s new role as an official Share chapter—while providing luminary kits and refreshments. - ➤ Rise & Respond Foundation, a new nonprofit founded by Sam & Ashlie Ferrell, will launch its mission with a community celebration and ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 353 E. Lander Street from 4 to 8 p.m.; a raffle drawing at 8 p.m. and free food provided by local sponsors will help support first responders, survivors, and students in emergency services careers. - ➤ The Southeast Idaho Homeless Stand Down will be held at Pocatello High School from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 — organizers are still seeking volunteers to support community service requirements and event setup. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

- ➤ Marshall Public Library is hosting a discussion series called Let’s Talk About It to bring community members together around literature and food—each session features an expert talk, guided discussion and themed refreshments. The free series will take place on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. starting November 13 at the library’s Yost-Ashcroft Family Exploration Center. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
