  • Valley Mission will host a 24-hour conversation on a bench at 442 N. CRIME NEWS

  • A Boy Scout troop’s white equipment trailer was stolen from the parking lot of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Oct. 6—its unique damage and missing hubcap did not stop thieves from taking thousands of dollars’ worth of camping gear that the troop needs for its monthly outings and planned 25th anniversary celebration.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho Department of Correction broke ground on a new Community Reentry Center in Pocatello on September 3 to help up to 100 minimum custody men prepare for release with job training and support. Local officials and state representatives were present at the ceremony and the facility will start operations in late Spring 2026—supporting Governor Little’s public safety plan.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • After five years of legal fighting, Idaho’s Fairness in Women's Sports Act reached the Supreme Court and the Attorney General said last week that the ACLU’s bid to dismiss the case must be rejected—ensuring that female athletes are not forced to compete against boys. The law, first passed in 2020, remains a key issue as the court prepares to decide on its merits.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
