COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 2025 Eastern Idaho State Fair had another successful year with 254,555 people attending—almost breaking last year’s record. Organizers said the 2026 fair will run from September 4th through 12th.  KPVI
  • Bandit is a 1-year-old Corgi Heeler-mix looking for a furr-ever home + residents should call Pocatello Animal Services at 208-234-6156 to arrange a meeting.  KPVI
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated over 40,000 pounds of food to 13 Pocatello groups, including schools, churches + non-profits, on Wednesday to help feed the community. Service leaders said the items were chosen based on each group's needs.  Local News 8
  • Bridle Up Hope held a fundraiser in Pocatello Wednesday night featuring live music, dinner — and a live auction that raised scholarship funds for its ride program, which teaches life skills to women and girls. Amberly Snyder, who continued her rodeo career after her paralysis, shared her inspirational story while program director Lana Davies explained how the event builds confidence through working with horses.  KPVI

  • Local business owner Jim Young of Dude's Market in historic downtown is running for City Council Seat 4—he says his work on the Historic Preservation Commission and his small business experience give him the skills to serve the community.  KPVI
  • Pocatello Regional Airport held an emergency exercise Wednesday morning to test its communication and response procedures in case of an aircraft emergency — a decommissioned NASA airplane simulated a crash while local fire crews, air medical teams, ambulances, and Idaho State University students played injured passengers.  KPVI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Idaho State University is hosting a Bengal Street Party on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on MLK Drive where students, staff, alumni and locals will enjoy food trucks, live music and free treats ahead of the football season opener against Lincoln on Saturday at the ICCU Dome—tailgate festivities begin at 2 p.m.  East Idaho News
  • Attending collegiate sporting events helps build community and support athletes while boosting local business. ISU officials say live games create lasting connections among students and alumni—strengthening the overall college experience.  East Idaho News
