Light the World Giving Machine returns to Eastern Idaho with a launch event on Nov.

15 at 6:00 p.m. in Chubbuck during ICCU's tree lighting ceremony. Kiosks will operate Nov. 14 to 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to support five local nonprofits.

Senator Jim Risch visited on Sept 8 to honor the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce's 125th anniversary — an organization that has boosted local business and housing in the community.

The chamber also celebrated its first Hall of Fame inductee, Sam Nettinga.

Local LDS Church members in Chubbuck will hold a food drive on Thursday, Sept.

10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 450 James Ave—honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11—to collect items for local pantries like Family Services Alliance and Valley Mission.

The new Shoshone-Bannock Fish and Wildlife Building is now open on Shoshone Drive in Fort Hall, offering expanded offices, a reception area, a conference room and shop to support improved wildlife operations.

Branson Fonnesbeck won the Pocatello Marathon this past weekend by finishing 33 seconds ahead of runner Justin Cannon after recovering from shoulder surgery last year - his victory honored Pocatello’s supportive running community.

The Rockland Bulldogs improved to 2 to 0 with two lopsided nonconference wins, including a 71 to 6 win over Dietrich at ICCU Dome while other District 5 teams had mixed results — Century and Sho-Ban lost conference games as West Side and Bear Lake remained undefeated.
