GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Supreme Court reopened a $21 million lawsuit against Pocatello and private developers over the Northgate project—vacating a 2023 decision that dismissed the case and allowing the Rupp family to challenge the alleged conspiracy to block access to their land and cheaper water. The case will now return to district court for further review as the city defends its actions. East Idaho News
- ➤ On August 30, ISAA called on the Idaho Legislature to end gun-free school zones and restore school staff's right to defend themselves. - ➤ IDFG reminds hunters in southeast Idaho to review new Canada goose hunt boundaries as Areas 3 and 4 now cover different parts of Bear Lake and Caribou counties and change season dates. In Area 4 the season runs from today until the 15th and from Oct. 4 until Jan. 1 while in Area 3 it begins on Nov. 3 until Feb. 15 — a change made to give hunters more late-year opportunities.
