- ➤ The first-ever Pocatello Potato Festival will be held on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Museum of Clean and My World Discovery located at 711 South 2nd Ave.—The event features a potato derby, live music by Michael Paul and Steelhead Redd, eight food trucks with free french fries from Simplot, and a potato-themed scavenger hunt to engage visitors of all ages. - ➤ Dr. Douglas Howell, superintendent of PCSD 25, was honored with the ISSA District Leadership Award on August 21st for his over 30 years of service and his swift, fiscally responsible response after the Highland High fire in 2023. He has also driven the expansion of career and technical education by securing the Portneuf Valley Technical Education and Career Campus—boosting hands-on training for local learners.
