  • The Business Women of Pocatello are hosting Women’s Marketplace featuring Fashion’s Night Out on Friday, Aug. 22 at Lookout Point—free entry starts at 4 p.m. The event will showcase local vendors, food trucks, and a runway show led by designer Debbie Beaumont—highlighting community talent.  East Idaho News

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bannock County man, Spencer Ryan Oliva, 34, was arrested on charges of aggravated DUI, two felony counts of injury to children, and one misdemeanor count after he crashed his vehicle on Sunday on Left Fork Marsh Creek Road when his truck left the road while he tried to stop his children from fighting—four minor relatives sustained minor injuries and were taken to Portneuf Medical Center.  East Idaho News

  • Pocatello’s Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and it will add new menu items and a barcode checkout system—designed to speed up long lines.  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bannock County released its draft 2026 budget and said residents may see lower property taxes while the county seeks public input. The $102.8 million proposal cuts taxes by $15 per $100,000 and includes a public hearing on August 26 at 11 a.m.—officials invite community review of key operations.  Local News 8
