COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ A local World War II veteran who fought in the Pacific Theater will soon celebrate his 101st birthday—residents are invited to join in honoring his service. Idaho State Journal
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Craig Heape, a well-known resident from Pocatello and Island Park, was seriously injured in a dock accident at Redfish Lake in Stanley on Sunday when a bench tipped and he fell headfirst into shallow water—paramedics airlifted him to the hospital where he faces months of rehabilitation. East Idaho News
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Business Women of Pocatello will host a Women's Marketplace event on Friday, August 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lookout Point where women-owned businesses and nonprofits will showcase products and a fashion show is planned (marking the event's first year). KPVI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game will stock 6,500 rainbow trout at several southeast Idaho locations in August, including 500 at Cub River, 1,000 at Montpelier Creek, 500 at Montpelier Rearing Pond and 500 at Upper Kelly Park Pond in Soda Springs — stocking schedules may change with weather and staffing conditions. - ➤ Idaho Fish and Game will release 6500 catchable-sized rainbow trout into southeast Idaho fisheries during August—fisheries include Cub River with 500 trout, Montpelier Creek with 1,000 trout, Montpelier Rearing Pond with 500 trout, and Upper Kelly Park Pond with 500 trout. Stocking depends on water conditions and may change due to weather or staffing constraints. Local News 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department is paving U.S. Highway 20 at the Idaho National Lab site, limiting turning movements during morning and overnight hours—drivers can only make right turns off U.S. 20 during these times. From 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., traffic is restricted to outbound movement with a 50 mph speed limit as work continues and is expected to finish by late September. KPVI

- ➤ Eastern Idaho Public Health is holding several back-to-school immunization clinics for children 18 and under who need routine vaccines such as D-tap+ HPV and others, with dates, times, and locations available on screen. KPVI
