  • Gov. Brad Little addressed a crowd at the Idaho State University ICCU Alumni Center Wednesday, praising Idaho's economic growth and the success of the LAUNCH program—he said his administration will attract more investments to support education and job opportunities.   • Jeff Tucker, Idaho Public Television general manager, recently spoke to the Pocatello Rotary Club and explained that the rescissions act package passed in July will cut CPB funds by about $2 million—this shortfall will affect station budgets for the next two fiscal years.  KPVI
  • Today in Pocatello, the urban renewal agency is accepting proposals to redevelop the condemned building that once housed the Monarch Hotel. Developers must submit plans by 11 a.m. Sept. 8 that either restore the historic structure or propose a design that fits downtown’s character — a move expected to boost local economic activity.  East Idaho News
  • Governor Brad Little welcomed U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer to Idaho on August 6 to showcase Idaho LAUNCH and explain the state’s workforce programs — she toured Micron and joined local leaders in Cascade as part of discussions that highlighted increased enrollment and new funding efforts for career training.
