- ➤ Local author Brenda Stanley released her new fictional mystery novel 'It Happened in the Hollow' on July 15 — the story is set in Eastern Idaho and is available at local bookstores and libraries, reflecting her love for the Snake River and the region. KPVI

- ➤ Economists say that despite the state’s celebrated 3.6% unemployment rate, fewer people in the labor force and high housing costs relative to incomes indicate that eastern Idaho’s economy may be slowing down.
