- ➤ The new Optimist Skate Park in Pocatello opened with a 12:15 p.m. ribbon cutting on Friday as skateboarding advocate David Van Etten and Parks and Recreation director Anne Butler celebrated its completion—its 7,000 to 8,000 square feet include a skating bowl, ramps, ledges and banks designed to serve local skateboarders for decades.
