- ➤ Aid for Friends will hold its 13th annual Splish and Splash fundraiser at Ross Park Aquatic Complex on August 1 to raise money for the homeless shelter—tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children while swimsuit donations are welcome at 209 E Lewis St. This event provides pool access, waterslides, dinner and raffles to help support shelter operations. - ➤ On Friday morning, East Idaho News celebrated its 10th birthday in Pocatello with a pop-up party in partnership with Good 2 Go and Farr’s ice cream—offering free ice cream, a raffle, and a Plinko game. The celebration was the first of three events, with parties scheduled in Idaho Falls from 1 to 2 p.m.—and in Rexburg from 3 to 4 p.m. East Idaho News
- ➤ Christ's Love Vineyard Church will celebrate its grand opening at 309 N. Garfield Ave. on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.—the church will start holding services at its new downtown location. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner was honored as the 2025 Partner of the Year by the Family Services Alliance of Southeast Idaho for his service as co-president of the Southeast Idaho Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force. He was recognized for his work helping families in crisis — including fundraising and support for survivors of violence and human trafficking. Local News 8

- ➤ Tunki Learning Center at 420 North Main Street in Pocatello is opening today from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and invites families to tour the center, enjoy bounce houses, face painting and raffles plus meet the team, according to Director Magali Saunders. KPVI

- ➤ A local government watchdog group criticized city officials for allegedly using a disguised tax to collect over $11.5 million from residents—officials have not yet offered a detailed response. Idaho State Journal
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ The housing alliance signed a wraparound loan agreement on July 18 to take over the vacant building at 805 North Main Street and plans to convert it into 40 studio apartments for fixed-income residents—each unit will include a kitchenette, private bath and shared laundry. The project in Historic Downtown Pocatello is set to have units available in four months and be fully completed in about a year. East Idaho News

- ➤ The 2025 Southeast Idaho Senior Games are wrapping up today with the archery event concluding the competition held in Pocatello since 2003. The games have grown from 7 events and 70 competitors to 31 events that feature sports like chair volleyball (which had 92 players) and a talent show. KPVI
