- ➤ The new Optimist Skate Park will open Friday, July 25 at 12:15 p.m. at 972 N. 7th Avenue — the park spans about 7,000 to 8,000 square feet with ramps, stairs, ledges, rails and a 41-foot bowl and will unveil a memorial for local skateboard enthusiast Chevy Nichols. Local News 8

- ➤ Longtime community member Idaho Purce dedicated Purce Park on July 9 after the park was refurbished with new benches, playground equipment and bocce ball courts — a renaming led by the Bonneville Neighborhood Association to honor her family's deep community ties. - ➤ The Power County Sheriff's Office and Idaho State Police have identified human remains found nearly three years ago along the Fort Hall River as Lesiah Olivia Pickett, who had been missing from Pocatello since 2019—authorities ask anyone with information to call the sheriff's office. KPVI

- ➤ Portneuf Health held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning in Chubbuck for its new urgent care facility as construction began last week just before July 4.
