- ➤ On Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., a home in Blackfoot near 1200 West was lost to a fire that firefighters fought for four hours amid high winds and water shortages—resources were limited because crews were also battling a brush fire at Fort Hall, and the cause remains under investigation. KPVI

- ➤ A new hibachi restaurant called 'Yoimi Sushi and Hibachi' opened at Dudes Public Market in Historic Downtown, serving dishes like hibachi chicken, steak, and seafood. Owner Choky Fandris said the downtown location meets local needs and that sushi will be added soon—bringing Japanese flavor to Pocatello. KPVI

- ➤ Trinity Episcopal Church at 248 North Arthur in historic downtown will host an outdoor morning prayer service on Sunday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a live New Orleans-style jazz band playing patriotic and church hymns; the same band will ride in the Fourth of July Parade on Main Street at 9:30 a.m. East Idaho News
