- ➤ The city of Chubbuck is preparing for its annual Chubbuck Days. The parade will be held on August 9th at 10 a.m.—the festival at Cotant Park will follow at 11 a.m.—registrations must be completed by July 1st with no entries accepted after July 30th. KPVI

- ➤ An online fundraiser has been started for a local man who was severely injured when a vehicle struck him while he was riding his bicycle—community donations will help cover his rising medical bills. Idaho State Journal
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Two local moms in Pocatello launched overnight car seat and stroller cleaning businesses after watching TikTok videos that showed how to keep seats safe for children. They started their Facebook pages in late May and early June and let parents leave items on their porches to have them returned clean the next morning + both aim to offer an easy way for busy parents to boost car seat safety. - ➤ Former Downard Funeral Home owner Lance Peck pleaded guilty to mishandling his business — including felony counts of tax evasion, perjury, grand theft and fraud — and agreed to pay restitution to victim families while awaiting sentencing on September 11. Local News 8
- ➤ A woman was charged with drunk driving after her car struck a parked SUV Wednesday night, shutting down a busy Pocatello street for over an hour—police are investigating the incident. Idaho State Journal

- ➤ Greg McReynolds, executive director of Idaho Rivers United, warned from Chinese Peak that a Senate proposal by Sen. Mike Lee could let federal agencies sell public lands and block access to recreation near Pocatello. Local conservation groups and officials oppose the plan and expect revisions to prevent public lands from becoming isolated parcels + limit community use. East Idaho News
