  • Southeast Idaho’s 22nd annual Wildflower Music Festival will take place Saturday, June 28 from noon to 9 p.m. at Pebble Creek Ski Area in Pocatello—organizers will use proceeds to support Pebble Creek Ski Patrol and provide live music, food, kids’ activities, and a lift ride from 3 to 7 p.m.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Idaho State University’s elite Robotics and Electronics SkillsUSA team will travel to Atlanta next week to defend its national Electronics Technology title and compete for its first Related Technical Math title at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference from June 24–28. Instructor Brody Holyoak said the team earned top honors at the state SkillsUSA Championships – a result of their hard work and strong skills training.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane held a wildfire forecast briefing on June 20 to warn that more than 70% of fires are human-caused and stressed that properly extinguishing campfires is key to protecting our public lands—last year wildfires burned nearly one million acres and cost millions in fire suppression. He urged everyone to follow fire safety rules so that Idaho’s outdoors remain safe to enjoy.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
