  • Poky Paddle 2025 will take place on Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Pocatello and features food trucks, live music and river floats that help restore the Portneuf River (float rentals are available for $5 or $10). Funds raised from sponsors and rentals will support the Portneuf River Vision project (a long-term plan linking community development with river revitalization).  East Idaho News
  • The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will host its annual All Star Dads Day event this Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. in Lookout Point in Historic Downtown Pocatello, where manager Ellen Loomis says the event will celebrate dads.  KPVI

CRIME NEWS

  • On June 9, police stopped a Pocatello driver at Love’s truck stop on I-15 in Bonneville County for speeding and swerving; showing signs of impairment and combative behavior, he tried to flee and damaged the fueling facility before his abandoned car was found at Rush’s Truck Repair—he now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Property tax payments for the second half of 2024 are due in Bannock County by Friday, June 20 before 5:00 p.m.—any payment received late will incur additional fees.  KPVI
  • Idaho property owners who split their 2024 taxes must pay the second-half payment by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 20—late payments will incur fees and interest calculated from January 1.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad and the City Council will host a Town Hall Meeting on June 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 911 North 7th Avenue—officials will discuss fireworks safety and enforcement and allow a two-minute question and answer session for each speaker who signs up before 6:00 p.m.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • Bannock County Sheriff’s Office launched a new free mobile app — developed with TheSheriffApp.com — that lets residents view crime tips, the jail roster, and emergency alerts and is available on the App Store and Google Play. The office says the app will help the community stay informed and connected by posting real-time news releases and updates on one platform.  Local News 8
