- ➤ A 43-year-old Pocatello man, Joshua Edward Maddock, was arrested Monday night after he fled a traffic stop on Interstate 15 in Bonneville County—crashing through two truck stops—now facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. Local News 8
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Pocatello Arts Council will host an empty bowls event on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at Jim Dandy's—where the Idaho State University Clay Club will display handcrafted bowls and live music will entertain the crowd—and proceeds will support the Idaho Foodbank to help fight hunger. KPVI
- ➤ A preview performance of 'School of Rock' was held Saturday at Portneuf Valley Farmers Market in Pocatello by Idaho State University's Farm Bureau Summer Theater, featuring a community cast from auditions that began in March. The musical will run on June 20, 21, 23 and 26 through 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Stephens Performing Arts Center — tickets start at $13. KPVI

- ➤ Reconnect Southeast Idaho hosts Constitution Day Camp this week where over 70 kids and 50 volunteers learn about early American history through activities such as bread making, sealing wax on their copies of the Hanover Resolves, and practicing colonial military drills. - ➤ Multiple eastern Idaho communities will hold No Kings protests on Saturday to oppose the military parade in Washington D.C. and to demonstrate their opposition to strongman politics—Pocatello’s event begins at 11:30 a.m. at Caldwell Park with safety measures in place to keep the gathering peaceful. - ➤ Idaho state employees and their dependents will face a sharp increase in health insurance premiums as officials plan the new rate changes—details on the exact impact are pending. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ The final phase of the Center Street Underpass project was set to begin in January with crews installing shoring and building a pedestrian bridge across Center Street+ after reviews and required approvals from Union Pacific Railroad, the city postponed the work until 2026 to reduce business disruptions and allow time to secure materials and work under better weather conditions.
