- ➤ Today, Bannock Civitan kicks off its annual 'Revive at 5' event at Lookout Point in Pocatello — featuring live music from Best by Yesterday and food vendors including Angels Tacos, Home-fire Comfort Foods and Sticks and Scones — and the event will run every Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. throughout the summer. - ➤ Ukrainian refugees Vlad Horbachov, Olena Kharkiv, and their daughter, who fled war through the U4U program and built lives in Pocatello while starting local businesses, say they fear losing legal status when their two-year stay ends because the program was suspended by executive order earlier this year—raising concerns about an uncertain future. - ➤ Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad recommended Dakota Bates for City Council Seat #4 at the meeting today at 6 p.m. The nomination follows the review of 17 applications and six interviews and, if confirmed, Bates will serve through December. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ Governor Brad Little appointed Brendon Taylor as District Judge for the Seventh Judicial District; Taylor, who served as a Magistrate Judge in Bonneville County since 2022 and led the Domestic Violence Treatment Court program, will fill the vacancy left by retired Judge Bruce L.
