- ➤ An online fundraiser has begun for the family of a 3-year-old girl who was fatally struck by a pickup truck outside a Pocatello Costco on Saturday afternoon. Idaho State Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Washington Elementary will hold its final assembly and celebration (Wednesday afternoon) as the city says goodbye to one of its oldest schools amid an uncertain future. Local officials say the event will honor the school's long history in Pocatello. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 is gearing up for its 25th Summer Food Service Program, offering free meals for children ages 1-18 and $5 lunches for adults. Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at several local sites from June 9 through August 8 — service will not be provided on July 4 in observance of the holiday. - ➤ The Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game announced that each year about 1,000 rainbow and hybrid trout are tagged in the South Fork Snake River so local anglers can earn cash rewards of $50 to $1,000 per fish. Anglers may turn in fish heads at the regional office or designated boat ramps during business hours Monday through Friday + winners will be notified by mail. East Idaho News
