  • Adam Gerard, owner of a local auto repair shop at C & G Sales & Service, is hosting a motorcycle and car rally on Saturday to raise funds for the Perez family after Victor Perez died on April 12 following a shooting by police while he was holding a knife. Riders will meet at 10 a.m. to pay $10, ride through Pocatello and Chubbuck starting at 11 a.m., and then gather for a barbecue at noon to show their support.  East Idaho News
  • City leaders held a town hall meeting Tuesday where the Parks Director detailed free disc golf, trails, and concerts while the Library Director outlined a summer reading program with events for all ages—Mayor Blad emphasized the city’s commitment to offering a variety of free activities beginning May 27 through August.  East Idaho News
  • Bill Sailer was honored today by Bingham County Commissioners for 20 years of volunteer service clearing mountain roadsides of litter — his efforts have kept the roads from Presto Bench onward safe and clean for local residents.  Idaho State Journal

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire outside Mickelsen Construction at (1908 Tank Farm Road) around 7 p.m. Wednesday evening cost the company two semi-trucks and spilled (250 gallons) of diesel, with local fire departments containing the blaze in about an hour while the Environmental Waste Department quickly cleaned up.  East Idaho News

  • A devastating fire destroyed Badass Glass — a classic car restoration shop at 2710 North Main in Pocatello — in the early morning hours Tuesday when a lithium battery overheated, causing irreparable damage to the building, equipment, and vehicles. The owners have launched a GoFundMe campaign to rebuild the business and restore its services in the community.  East Idaho News

  • The Marshall Public Library expands its services with new books and DVDs for children who stutter, with donated materials from the Stuttering Foundation—providing expert speech therapy techniques.   • From May 11 to May 17, local healthcare providers are highlighting care for mind and body during National Women's Health Week, focusing on menopause, mental health, cancer, and care for new mothers. They urge women to get regular checkups & screenings to help catch problems early.  Local News 8
  • Pocatello Animal Services is hosting its annual Low-Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to offer rabies vaccines for pets at $10 per animal. First-time shots last one year while booster shots last three years (with proof of previous vaccination) and valid photo ID with cash or check is required (credit cards are not accepted).  Local News 8
