COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Pocatello Food Truck Roundup kicked off its 2025 season on Monday at Lookout Point— drawing local food lovers to try a variety of food trucks. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ The city of Pocatello is organizing the 6th annual Poky Paddle on June 13 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and is asking volunteers to help at shuttle stops — Edson Fichter, Taysom Rotary Park and Rainey Park — by assisting guests in and out of the water and on and off shuttles. KPVI
- ➤ A fundraiser will begin on May 17th at 10 a.m. at C&G Sales and Service at 3950 South 5th Ave to support the Perez family after their son, Victor, was shot and killed by Pocatello Police on April 5th — participants may ride a car or bike, decorate their vehicle, and pay $10 to join with a $5 barbecue option while all proceeds help cover the family’s needs. - ➤ Connections Credit Union and Zoo Idaho will host their annual free day event on May 31 at Zoo Idaho from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering free admission and a barbecue served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.—a tradition since 2018 that welcomes the summer season. KPVI

- ➤ A local business went up in flames this morning at 1:53 a.m. at 2680 North Main Street—residents were evacuated and Idaho Power shut off the power as police investigate the cause, with no injuries reported. KPVI
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ After several challenging years, The Port is set to revive its reputation with a busy summer season featuring 11 concerts that will offer music from country to heavy metal. The venue has improved its crowd control and logistics with a new partnership with Nederlander Concerts — a change expected to give concertgoers a smoother experience. East Idaho News

- ➤ At today's town hall, Pocatello residents raised concerns about the city's handling of the April 5 shooting of Victor Perez (an autistic teen) by asking for body cam footage and clarity on whether the four officers involved have returned to active duty (a question officials did not answer during the meeting).
