  • Pocatello will open the refurbished Ross Park Aquatic Complex on May 24 with safety upgrades like replaced deck drains and a new lazy river bridge — the main building and kiddie pool play structure will also get a fresh look, with any remaining work finished on nights and weekends. City officials plan to ensure the facility is updated before the summer season begins.  East Idaho News
  • The Pocatello Salvation Army is asking locals for donations to raise $25,000 to buy a new 15 foot box truck after its engine failure halted critical delivery programs—this new truck will help it serve about 50 people daily and is planned to be ready by the end of June.  Local News 8
  • Paige Armstrong and Kari Welch run Jackson Creek Swim at 1005 East Jackson Creek Road in Inkom, where they have taught children as young as 2 to swim and stay safe for eight years—offering two-week sessions with one-on-one practice and private party rentals. The facility runs lessons Monday through Friday, giving local families a chance to build essential water skills year-round.  East Idaho News

  • The Stephens Performing Arts Center will host the first GEMS Piano Competition from May 15 to May 17, featuring over 70 young pianists ages six to 25 from across Idaho and replacing the long-running Musicians West Piano Competition.
