Good morning, Pocatello.

East Idaho’s cottage bakeries are thriving as local home bakers in Pocatello and beyond sell items like sourdough bread and cookies under Idaho’s cottage food laws (which permit the sale of non-perishable home-made foods) with many crediting the pandemic for sparking this trend.

Rising commercial kitchen costs and consumer demand for fewer additives are prompting more residents to launch profitable side hustles (while strictly following food safety guidelines for shelf-stable goods).

At Idaho State University’s spring commencement, over 2,000 graduates received diplomas—alumnus Donell Morgan recalled standing where they are today.

City of Pocatello received notice that two federal grants totaling over $17 million were terminated—funds meant for safe drinking water and transportation upgrades.

City officials disputed the decision and are exploring options to reinstate the awards—emphasizing the projects' importance for the community.

The Malad Dragons and Marsh Valley Eagles each won their super-regional tournaments to earn state tournament bids next week—Pocatello Thunder and Highland Rams ended their seasons on Saturday after losses.

Highland Rams managed just three runs in a game against the Lake City Timberwolves as regional results were finalized.
