  • The Water Department hosts its 32nd annual Water Week open house from May 4 to May 7 at the Water Operations Facility on North Arthur Avenue. Today, interactive displays on water quality and conservation plus Tuesday’s extended hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. offer a hands-on learning experience.  East Idaho News
  • Fallen law enforcement heroes will be honored on May 15 at memorial services in Washington and Idaho Falls — a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.  Idaho State Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Third-grade student Naboo from Tyhee Elementary won Best in Show at the Fine Arts Exhibition held May 1 at Gate City Coffee during the Historic Downtown First Friday Art Walk—his drawing 'The Land Hears Me' was chosen from nearly 250 entries celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Pocatello released its Road Construction & Traffic Report showing work on street repairs, sewer cleaning, and milling on Mar Vista Dr. The Water Department will replace a water main on Westello Blvd from Monday to Thursday 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. while select streets close for events.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

HEALTH NEWS

  • A toddler in Pocatello was diagnosed with brain cancer days after Easter and community members have rallied to support her treatment. The child's family is receiving local help as she begins her care.  Idaho State Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Big Sky Softball Tournament starts today at Direct Communications Field at Miller Ranch Stadium in Pocatello with six teams in a double elimination contest. The 9 a.m. game pits Montana against Weber State, while the top-seeded Idaho State Bengals face the winner at 2 p.m. (Bengal concessions available).  KPVI
