- ➤ Idaho angler Caleb Wilson from Troy broke the state catch-and-release record by catching a 26.75-inch Burbot on Mar. 19 on the Kootenai River + he then released the fish to preserve its record status. KPVI
- ➤ Scott Smith, Idaho Gives’ new community engagement associate for the Eastern Region, will launch a fundraising campaign on May 5 to support more than 700 nonprofits in East Idaho. The initiative invites local contributions to boost nonprofit efforts across the community. Post Register
- ➤ The Boys and Girls Club, a local non-profit, is joining the Idaho Gives campaign next week to raise funds for community programs. CEO Mona Mannan said the club offers a safe space for kids to learn and play, underscoring the importance of investing in youth. KPVI

- ➤ Idaho State University will pay $160,000 to Chanica Sintima, a Black pharmacy doctoral student, after a Bannock County jury ruled she was treated unfairly when removed from a clinical rotation at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. The award covers vocational rehabilitation and lost earnings, not pain or future earnings. Local News 8
- ➤ The Idaho State Board of Education approved tuition increases for four-year schools on Tuesday, raising in-state sticker prices by as much as $425 this fall — the largest hikes in three years.
