CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ City leadership accepted a print of young Chief Pocatello donated by local artist Tal Sampson at the regular City Council meeting last week — the artwork now joins the permanent collection at City Hall and will also be on display at the State Capitol. Local News 8
- ➤ Local artist (Nick Hottman) began painting a mural at Marshall Public Library Monday, Apr. 27 to showcase local landmarks and celebrate the library’s role. Local residents can watch the project progress this week. Idaho State Journal
- ➤ Power County Museum re-opened Saturday at 592 Gifford Avenue in American Falls after a two-year closure caused by water damage; community members saw local history exhibits, listened to guest speakers, and joined a raffle to celebrate the new facility. KPVI

- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game will host its annual Youth Outdoor Skills Day on May 9 at Beaver Dick Park on Highway 33. Local youth can learn outdoor skills and explore Idaho’s environment. Post Register

- ➤ Pocatello Water Department began its annual system flushing on April 27 to clear sediment, test hydrants, and maintain drinking water safety. Residents experienced lower water pressure and temporary discoloration as crews worked during the three-week process. Local News 8
- ➤ Former Governor Dirk Kempthorne died Friday night in Boise; Governor Little ordered flags lowered at half-staff, and they will remain so until after his memorial service (schedule pending). KPVI

- ➤ Pocatello’s Road Construction and Traffic Report outlines ongoing work as crews replace a water main on Westello Blvd Monday to Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—sewer work will shift N.
