  • Pocatello local entrepreneur Jeff Huckstep launched his dog food brand, Pawtorc (using safe, locally sourced ingredients) to provide nutritious meals for dogs across Southeast Idaho.  Post Register

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local artist Nick Hottman begins a new mural today at Marshall Public Library that celebrates local landmarks and the library’s role; art kits for the upcoming Tiny Art Show will be available on site.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
  • Cody Lightning, the actor from Smoke Signals, will have his film (Hey Viktor!) shown at Pocatello's upcoming Spark of Madness Film Festival.  Post Register
  • Tickets are on sale for the inaugural Bannock County PRCA Rodeo at the Bannock County Events Complex May 22-23; the show opens with Family Night—one free child per paying adult on May 22 and features a Fort Hall Indian Relay Association race at 7 p.m. on May 23.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Bannock County jury ruled that Idaho State University retaliated against a Black pharmacy student who raised concerns about racial discrimination, awarding her $160K in damages.  Post Register

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Pocatello Water Department will begin its annual water system flushing today for three weeks to maintain clean drinking water and proper hydrant function. Residents are advised to avoid using tap water (especially for laundry or dishwashing) near flushing crews until discoloration clears.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
