ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • One man died and two were injured in a crash on I-15 near Fort Hall on April 25 when a Subaru Legacy hit the back of an Audi—police reported the unbuckled driver died at the scene while both Audi passengers were taken to a nearby hospital.  KPVI

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Marshall Public Library in Pocatello will host the 24th annual Free Comic Book Day on May 3 at 10:00 a.m. The event will offer free comic books + a comic-themed craft project + a puzzle + a hero-themed photo shoot, with support from Captain Bengal's Comic Cove.  KPVI
  • Gate City native Arwen Baxter released the first single off her third album in the UK on Friday + her new song shows Pocatello talent reaching listeners abroad.  Idaho State Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On April 25, Irving Middle School celebrated 100 years since its 1925 opening as students, alumni, and staff gathered for an open house to tour historic displays—emphasizing the school’s many changes over time.  East Idaho News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The 2025 Portneuf Valley Environmental Fair is held today at Lookout Point, 426 West Lewis Street from 11 am to 3 pm and features booths, live music, free food, lead and nitrate testing for well water, and recycling stations for electronics and lithium batteries — a showcase of local efforts to protect the environment and improve community health — inviting residents to learn about sustainable practices.  Local News 8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Pocatello Animal Services closed after parvovirus was detected as four puppies tested positive and were euthanized while ten other puppies are being monitored to prevent further spread.  KPVI
  • Today, the Pocatello Animal Shelter closed due to a health concern affecting some animals—Animal Services is cleaning the facility and caring for the residents and will reassess the situation on Monday.  Local News 8
