- ➤ Pocatello and Chubbuck will host their annual spring clean-up on Saturday, May 2 at 8:30 a.m. at Caldwell Park; the event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee (with a free breakfast by Chamber Trailblazers) and will see volunteers clear trash along local roads using provided gloves and bags. - ➤ Idaho Power urged drivers during National Work Zone Awareness Week to slow down near work zones and give ample space for crews to work safely - the company reminded drivers to watch for flaggers and follow lane restrictions. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A small plane was damaged after landing on Thursday around 4:20 PM at Pocatello Regional Airport when a 45 mph wind gust disrupted its taxiing toward the hangar — no injuries occurred and authorities will not formally investigate the incident as the pilot or owner must file with the NTSB. - ➤ The City of Pocatello has received a portrait of young Chief Pocatello donated by local artist Tal Sampson, now on display in City Council Chambers with a second print planned for the State Capitol. - ➤ Pocatello Valley Montessori School is hosting the Pancakes for Playgrounds fundraiser today from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Applebee’s, where community members can buy $12 tickets to help upgrade toddler playground equipment + improve outdoor play safety. East Idaho News

- ➤ A Bannock County jury ruled that Idaho State University and two faculty members retaliated against a former student for raising race discrimination concerns, awarding Chanica Sintima $160,000 in damages — the decision followed her expulsion and other unfair actions in the pharmacy program. - ➤ Central District Health will host a virtual youth substance use prevention event on Monday, May 11 (6:30-7:30 p.m.). Officials will discuss vaping, kratom, kava and cannabis while offering free resources and a chance to win a $100 gift card. KPVI
