COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will open Saturday, May 2 at Lookout Point in Pocatello from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. until the end of October (manager Ellen Loomis announced new food trucks, entertainers, farmers, and crafters along with Jumbo's Express Cafe and Camille's Crepes for opening-day festivities).  KPVI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Barricade celebrated its expansion with a new stage and more options including live music, trivia, comedy events and retro games. The bar hosts live music by Cat Daddy at 7 pm today and will feature DJ Trivia on Monday, April 20 (highlighting its fresh schedule).  KPVI
  • Local industry leaders, city officials and community members attended a luncheon at Chubbuck City Hall on Thursday – welcoming SME Industries' new facility. The event marked a notable boost for local business growth and employment.  Idaho State Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • SRD's Wild Reptile Adventure is hosting an adult prom on Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to midnight at the Elks Lodge in Pocatello. The event, themed 'Back to the 80s', offers live music, a DJ, dance floors and contests (tickets are $20 for singles and $30 for couples for ages 21+).  KPVI

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pocatello High School speech and debate team will screen the documentary *SPEAK* on April 22 at Idaho State University’s Bengal Theater to raise funds for its national tournament. The event offers a chance for community supporters to back local talent.  Idaho State Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Pocatello announced that new pet licenses will be available exclusively at Animal Services (3100 Avenue of the Chiefs, Upper Ross Park) beginning May 1 at half price all month; 2025 licenses will expire June 1 and owners must license both cats and dogs.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
