COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Ameri-Title, located at 441 E. Chubbuck Rd—site of the drive—will collect gently used and new clothing until April 18 to help families in need. Donated items will be distributed to local organizations including Family Service Alliance and The Village.  KPVI

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Monday on Highway 26 at 100 North in Bingham County—when a maroon 1997 GMC Jimmy failed to yield and was struck by a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle, killing its 29-year-old rider and sending a juvenile passenger to a local hospital.  East Idaho News

CRIME NEWS

  • A 17-year-old autistic teen with physical disabilities was shot nine times by Pocatello Police over the weekend and is now in a coma at Portneuf Medical Center (after three surgeries including a leg amputation and two resuscitations) while investigators continue reviewing the incident amid community calls for an independent investigation.  Local News 8
  • Bingham County Coroner Jimmy Roberts identified 29-year-old Bradly C. Orr of Chubbuck as the man killed in a motorcycle versus car crash on U.S. Highway 26 at 100 North Monday night (at 8:10 p.m.), after a 1997 GMC Jimmy failed to yield and struck his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle (Orr died at the scene from multi-system trauma while his juvenile passenger was taken to a local hospital).  East Idaho News

  • Marshall Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by showcasing its collection of comic books and graphic novels and hosting the Find the Comic Heroes scavenger hunt—events that run until Saturday, April 12. Librarians will also highlight the many services available to patrons.  Local News 8

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Fall River Electric Cooperative announced a rate increase that will add about $7.20 per month to the average customer's bill — the change is needed to match power demand costs and will not affect the kilowatt hour charge or monthly access fee; billing statements will be sent after May 1.  KPVI
