  • Today’s Parks and Rec newsletter reports Zoo Idaho opened on Saturday, April 4, and registration is open for the Fun Run and Midweek Race Series. The Hiring Fair is on Friday, April 10 at Public Works Annex (2405 Garrett Way) and the Environmental Fair is on Saturday, April 18.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dozens of vehicles lined the parking lot outside Frazier Hall as Tau Kappa Epsilon organized a car show at Idaho State University to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event brought together students & community members to celebrate car culture and raise awareness.  Local News 8

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Household Hazardous Waste Days took place at the Fort Hall Mine Landfill on Saturday, Apr. 4 to protect our drinking water by disposing of chemicals plus the event is scheduled monthly from April to October except in July, with Free Days slated for May 16, July 18, and Oct. 17.  East Idaho News
  • Controlled hunt applications for moose, bighorn sheep, and mountain goat open April 1 through April 30; licensed hunters must pay nonrefundable fees with resident and nonresident rates and can apply online or at Fish and Game offices (including vendors) with drawing results online in early June.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Brad Little said Idaho submitted its response to the DOE’s request for information on hosting a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus last week. The proposal, backed by industry and local leaders (including the Advanced Nuclear Energy Task Force), aims to boost clean energy and strengthen Idaho’s nuclear leadership.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
