- ➤ Idaho State Police investigated a crash on April 2nd at 6:48 p.m. on W. Chubbuck Road when a 2002 Harley Davidson hit a 2013 Infiniti QX56 that was stopped after its 53-year-old driver did not yield— the 20-year-old motorcyclist from Pocatello was taken to a local hospital. - ➤ The updated Medical Freedom Act bill, HB 472, passed the Idaho House yesterday on a vote of 46 Aye, 21 Nay and 3 absent—its revised version will move to the Senate after the governor vetoed a similar measure over the weekend. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 380 last week and later expanded his statement on strengthening penalties for convicted pedophiles charged with aggravated lewd conduct with children 12 and younger, noting that Idaho now uses death by firing squad as its primary method of execution—an action that reinforces the state's tough on crime policy. - ➤ U.S. Senators Jim Risch from Idaho and Jeff Merkley from Oregon introduced a bipartisan bill on April 1 to lower the federal cost-sharing requirement for Youth Corps public lands projects from 25% to 10%—joined by Senators Mike Crapo and Catherine Cortez Masto.
