- ➤ Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner identified motorcyclist Ethan Luke Wright (24) as having died in a fiery crash with a compact SUV on Wednesday at around 9:37 p.m. on Yellowstone Avenue; his next of kin were notified while police continue to investigate and an 18-year-old pregnant passenger was taken to Portneuf Medical Center. - ➤ After nearly nine hours of jury deliberation, Todd Vernon Brewer, 45, was found guilty on two counts of aggravated battery & two counts of aggravated assault for exchanging gunfire with police officers on May 5, and his sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 12. East Idaho News

- ➤ The Pocatello Fire Department will conduct a Burn and Learn training exercise on March 31 and April 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3534 Jason Avenue where flames and smoke will be visible from a vacant house—motorists are urged to keep a safe distance. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ Bannock County Commissioners unanimously upheld the Planning Council decision to deny a conditional use permit for a gravel pit on March 28—Commissioners said due diligence had been done and the applicant may continue its appeal process. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
- ➤ State Senator James Ruchti voted for a proposed bill that would allow the death penalty for those convicted of sexually abusing children under 12, though he said he felt conflicted about it—he noted that debate focused more on expanding the death penalty than on the specific crimes.
