ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Pocatello died in a crash with an SUV on March 26 in the 1000 block of Yellowstone Avenue at around 9:37 p.m., and an 18-year-old pregnant passenger was transported to Portneuf Medical Center.  East Idaho News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Justin and Jackie Reader took over Barricade on March 1 and are making big changes at Pocatello’s only arcade bar at 308 East Center Street by adding a video game-themed cocktail menu and a monthly wine club—food permitting is in the works for bar snacks.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Portneuf District Library will offer free online tutoring through Tutor.com and host events for all ages in April—its new monthly feature provides community resources. Patrons can join the tutoring service and group activities—designed to support education and social connection.  Local News 8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Brad Little signed the Property Tax Relief Bill on March 27 which provides property taxpayers $100,000,000 in relief—$50,000,000 from the Public Schools Facilities Fund and $50,000,000 from the Homeowner Property Tax Relief Account. Since 2019, $4.6 billion has been returned to Idaho taxpayers.  KPVI
  • House Bill 270 expands the definition of indecent exposure—adding conditions for medically altered male breasts, natural female breasts, and artificial breasts—and reclassifies several offenses as misdemeanors. The bill passed the legislature and is now heading to the governor's desk.  KPVI
  • Firefighters with the Pocatello Fire Department will conduct a Burn and Learn training at a vacant home along Jason Avenue on March 31 and April 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. City officials said residents may see flames and smoke during the controlled exercise — motorists are urged to keep a safe distance until conditions are favorable.  Local News 8
